Ty Yarnell

Ty has spent her life exploring and pushing the boundaries of what life has to offer—overcoming many obstacles along her journey.

Ty earned her MSW in Clinical Social Work while employed full time in Law Enforcement, where she was a street cop, detective, and SWAT team member. After cop life, she was a hospice social worker, private practice psychotherapist, soccer coach, swim coach, massage therapist and mother of five.

As an adoptive mother of four special needs children, along with her professional experience, Ty learned first-hand the nature of perseverance, tenacity, inner brilliance and the human’s capacity to achieve excellence.

She has taken all the tools she has acquired along the way and masterfully weaves them together as a Leadership Coach. A credentialed ICF coach with training from Coaches Training Institute, Ty is committed to guiding others with reflective and purposeful conversation.

Milo Wan

Milo Wan brings exceptional problem-solving skills in the intersections of design, technology, and business. He provides strategic solutions that integrate a wide range of different disciplines to overcome complex business challenges and create value.

Milo has extensive international experience. He opened the first UK office for Taiwan’s largest real estate firm Pau Jar Group.

As a licensed architect in New York City, Milo developed his ability to envision a future state and the attention to detail to make it happen. He worked at Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) and ODA-Architecture, both global renowned design firms, leading several international large-scale projects and coordinating multi-functional internal and external teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Milo earned an MBA from Said Business School, University of Oxford, where he was a Leo Tong Chen scholarship recipient. During his study, he co-founded the school’s first Asia Business Group and advised Said Foundation and Alumni Association on the transformation of alumni engagment culture.

In addition to his MBA, Milo holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Shijiazhuang Tiedao University in China and a Master of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech in the U.S.

Luke Schrotberger

Luke has spent more than 15 years working with companies to improve operational performance, financial performance and safety performance with Fortune 500 companies. He recognizes the importance of leadership’s role of intentionally creating a culture that supports the organization’s mission.

His projects at companies that include Genentech, Boeing Satellite Systems, Raytheon Space Systems, Newport News Shipyard, Bell Helicopter and ConocoPhillips has given him a cross-industry, cross functional understanding of the qualities that create excellence. His projects have required international implementation in places such as Australia, Brazil, Angola and Trinidad and Tobago giving him an understanding of the cultural complexity that is more common in today’s workforce.

He has also started his own real estate finance company and has had an opportunity to apply these concepts to a start-up environment, which has provided an appreciation for the specific challenges of rapidly growing businesses. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a BA from the University of Redlands. He received a Certificate of Professional Development in Executive Coaching from the London School of Coaching. Luke is passionate about improving our public education system. To support this mission in his community, he is the Board Chair for Teach for America – San Diego.

Onize Oniwon

Onize brings exceptional research and analytical skills to the Conscient Strategies team as well as a deep appreciation of the impact of policies and procedures on people. Her work has included both quantitative and qualitative analyses, ranging from large data base analytics and multivariate statistical analyses to executive interviews and assessment of implementation strategies and program sustainability.

Before joining Conscient Strategies, Onize focused on the health care sector. She worked in both the private and public arenas, including at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Marymount University, and Quest Diagnostics. Onize also returned to her native Nigeria to support research in malaria.

Onize earned a Masters in Health Care Management and an MBA at Marymount University. She has a Masters in Public Health from the Milken Institute School of Public Health at The George Washington University and a BS from The State University of New York in Buffalo.

Brenda O’Donnell

Brenda has an extensive background working with public and nonprofit agencies in the education sector, focusing on increasing the skills and capacity of early childhood centers. Working hand in hand with childcare directors, Brenda led training and advancement programs to increase outcomes for early childhood school children. Through these positions, Brenda increasingly increased her knowledge and shifted her methods from training to coaching. She has a passion for people and a positive outlook, allowing her to best support those whom she is coaching.

Brenda O’Donnell is a Board Certified Coach. She earned her master’s degree in education from Old Dominion University and a BA in Recreation Management from Christopher Newport University.

Kathleen McGovern

Kathleen McGovern has extensive experience in behavior change and organizational transformation, with particular expertise using communications to achieve desired changes. Focusing on the employee, target audience, consumer, or end user, Kathleen creates connections between people and brands.  She has run successful teams across both internal and external campaigns. She is experienced in brand development, communication campaigns, incident and emergency management, creative concept development, and project management.

 

Prior to joining Conscient Strategies, Kathleen was the Head of Communications and Engagement at a water utility, where she was tasked with communicating to the citizens of the region to convince them to use less water during intense drought. The result not only included a reduction of water use across the target areas, but also increased awareness, a positive reputation and trust for the brand across the community.

 

Previously, Kathleen was the Chief of Staff to the CEO of a Federal Government Agency in Australia where she brought together Chief Information Officers across all levels of Government to work together on technology platforms to create better services for the community.

 

Kathleen has also run digital agencies where she worked on social media strategies, digital marketing strategies and website and mobile app development projects for clients such as The Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Philips Electronics, Coca-Cola, Tourism Australia, Air New Zealand and Colliers International.

 

Kathleen holds an MBA from Deakin University in Australia and a BA, in Communication Studies and Marketing, from the University of Western Sydney. An Australian citizen, Kathleen now lives in Washington DC.

Nicolette Grams

With over 15 years of experience in the international business, public, and nonprofit sectors, Nicolette leads a multi-sector portfolio of strategy and organizational transformation projects and drives Conscient Strategies’ non-financial due diligence work in the private equity (PE) and merger and acquisition (M&A) space. 

Nicolette is an expert in leadership development and an experienced human-centered design practitioner who leverages systems thinking and superior analytical skills to shape complex problems into succinct, scalable solutions. 

Nicolette has ushered leadership teams, founders and boards through strategic planning and visioning processes. She has experience assessing and improving the effectiveness of existing leadership dynamics, cultures, and operations to help organizations improve their impact and drive value creation. She is adept at analyzing and defining impact, building systems and efficient processes, leading and coaching effective teams, and developing models to grow and sustain innovation.

Prior to joining Conscient Strategies, Nicolette focused on strategy development and impact analysis for startups and social entrepreneurs with Arvo Co. Prior to that, she served as director of operations for Compass Coffee, leading a team of 80 and was responsible for developing, optimizing, and ensuring operational and team success as the company scaled five-fold in two and a half years. During a seven year stint based in India with Justice Ventures International, she rose from program consultant to Asia program director where she oversaw the organization’s strategy, programming, and public-private partnerships across India.

Nicolette holds a BA in English Literature from the University of California Los Angeles. She is a Division 1 NCAA national champion water polo player and a certified restorative justice facilitator.

 

Sue Erickson

With over 30 years in higher education, Sue has experience in leadership, mentoringand coachingfacilitation, and strategic planning. She has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals and given numerous presentations on everything from “The Art of Bartering” to “Goal Setting During Times of Uncertainty.” Her scholarship largely focuses on building community through collaborative partnerships and intentional employee engagement and cultural and skills-based competencies within the context of academic libraries and more broadly higher education. Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Accessibility frame much her scholarly work. 

Through her leadership roles and engagement with individual staff, teams and professional communities, Sue discovered her passion for coaching and team development and has completed coach training at George Mason University with a Certificate in Leadership Coaching for Organizational WellbeingSue holds a BA in English Literature from Trinity College and an MSLS from the University of North Carolina.  

Diethard Engel

Diethard (“Hardy”) bring over 20 years of experience with global corporations. He has focused his career on designing and delivering organizational transformation and post-merger integrations for an expansive clientele in industrial, professional services, and PE sectors.

One of Hardy’s strengths lies in the management of large, cross-functional teams with members of diverse backgrounds. He applies his experience in this area routinely and effectively in leading projects for international organizations—ensuring that strategic objectives are broken down to actionable items.

Stemming from a Finance and Controlling background, analysis and structure build the foundation of Hardy’s approach to delivering successful programs. Owing to his broad functional exposure, Hardy has become a process-savvy and interface-conscious leader with the right mix of drive for results and emotional intelligence.

Before joining Conscient Strategies, Hardy gained international exposure in his career as a Finance Executive with global players like Unilever, ICI, and Henkel. He spent six years in a CFO role in the US, and another two years in the UK. Among others, Hardy has run projects for Dematic, Siemens Gamesa, DowDuPont, and Qualitest.

Hardy holds a diploma in Business Management from the University of Kiel, and is a certified international trade specialist. He is fluent in English and German.

He serves as a board member of a student alumni organization, and enjoys BBQ grilling and smoking meats in his outdoor kitchen.

Liz Chandler

Liz has been a consultant and leadership and organizational development expert for over 15 years. She brings a passion to help leaders and teams reach their full potential. From working with front-line teams to Fortune 400 C-Suites, she has helped organizations achieve their transformation goals.

Before joining Conscient Strategies, Liz worked with Defense Contractors, Federal Depot-level facilities, and Oil and Gas clients. She was also an officer in the US Army, bringing both operational and strategic perspective to her work. Liz is a Certified Executive Coach and Master Facilitator. She holds a B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University.
